I did this some years ago some years ago probably between 2018 and 2020. It was all right I agree with your assessment not abysmal or anything just maybe a little boring. I like my strolls through a little more woodsy area and this was an overgrown golf course. Still a little bit maintained at least as of when I went. I vaguely remember across the street there was a section that was supposed to be a little more wilded just how much I’m not sure I didn’t bother as I had enough to do with the more proper main section. Lot of people walk on their dogs in the trails a pretty scenic footbridge or so on. I believe I went towards the tail end of the summer or beginning of the falls I remember seeing sumac there it could have been a little later even honestly. It was nice having been not far from the area but I wouldn’t have traveled for it.
